George Philip Stead

Philip is our senior partner. He became a solicitor in l970. He is a highly experienced Conveyancer in both commercial and residential matters.

Nicholas Edward Aspley

Nick is the Head of our Family Law Department having trained with the firm, qualified in 1993 and has been a partner since 1997.

Nick was one of the first solicitors to become accredited to both the Law Society's Children and Advanced Family Law Panels and is also a member of Resolution, a nationwide organisation of family solicitors. He is also an accredited specialist with Resolution. (www.resolution.org.uk)

He also sits on the Law Society's Family Law Committee with terms of reference that include to review and promote improvements in family and child care law, practice and procedure.

Chris Lacey

Chris is head of our Criminal Department. He qualified in l987 joining Marchants in l997 before becoming a partner in 2000.

He has considerable experience in the Magistrates' Court. He is respected and well known to clients and colleagues alike.

He is a Solicitor Advocate and is therefore able to appear in the Crown Court.

He is a Peer Reviewer.

Michael Christopher Cummins

Mike is head of our Private Law Department dealing with Wills, Probate, Trusts and Powers of Attorney. He also deals with conveyancing – both commercial and residential.

Mike qualified in l980 and joined Marchants in l997 before becoming a partner in 2000.

Jayne Annabel Sullivan

Jayne joined Marchants in 1996, when she began her training contract after graduation.  She qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 and was made a Partner in 2001.

Jayne deals with all areas of Family Law and is on the Law Society's Children Panel.  She is also a member of the Criminal Department and is a Duty Solicitor for the Magistrates' Court and Police Station.

Jonathan Calthrop

Jon was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in l973.

He has always practised in the Mansfield area and has built up a reputation for his ability as a civil litigator and personal injury lawyer. Jon joined Marchants as a Senior Solicitor in l998. Jon is accredited as a Senior Litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Donna Elizabeth Pursglove

Donna joined Marchants in l998 after graduation. She did her training contract here and qualified as a solicitor in 2001. She works within the Criminal Department and is qualified as a Duty Solicitor for both Police Station and Magistrates' Court work.

She is currently head of the Crown Court Department.  Donna was made a partner in 2005.

Annette Marie Parkin

Annette qualified in 2008 and is a criminal lawyer. She joined Marchants in 2009. She is on the Duty Solicitor panel.

Juliet Aia Stevens

Juliet is our most recently qualified solicitor.

She did her training contract with us and qualified on the 4th January 2010.

Juliet is assisting in our Private Client Department and also with family law and criminal law.

Helen Foster

Helen has been involved in conveyancing since she left school. She started her career as a conveyancing secretary but over the years has progressed and developed an expertise in her area of domestic conveyancing.

She joined Marchants in 2004. She is well respected and liked by her clients and is proud of the fact that they come back to use her time and time again.
